Biography
Victor Beaumont was a British film and television actor who was born in Germany. Early in his career—using his birth name, Peter Wolff—he worked in German cinema on titles such as Revolt in the Reformatory and The Virtuous Sinner, and appeared on stage in Die erste Mrs Selby. After moving to the United Kingdom in the 1930s, he became a regular presence in British features and TV dramas from the 1940s onward, and later turned up in Hollywood productions during the 1960s.
He was often cast as German officers or officials. Audiences may remember him as Colonel Weissner in Where Eagles Dare (1968), and from Carve Her Name with Pride (1958), The Guns of Navarone (1961), The Heroes of Telemark (1965), and an uncredited appearance as the psychologist in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971). On television, he made two appearances in The Saint and played Dr. Hauser in “Departure and Arrival,” the opening episode of the BBC science-fiction series Moonbase 3 (1973). Beaumont died on 21 March 1977, at the age of 64.

Hi, just come across your fantastic site, thought you might want to add a couple of details to Victor Beaumonts filmography. I remember seeing him in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, playing a psychiatrist, and also in the Jon Voight thriller the Odessa file, as a Nazi. Both films are early ’70s, not sure exactly what year they were made.
victor used to go swimming in granville road baths in kilburn north london in early 70s
In 1956 I cycled to Lands End with Colleagues.
Victor was also on a cycling trip and was going to Princeton in Devon.
I think I met him in 1943 at a scout camp at Wisley Surrey where he was a Rover Scout.
He also appeared in one episode of “The Saint”
He played a Nazi War Criminal living in Peru.
Tolle Zeit damals.
anybody know where victor is buried/remembered in berlin, i am going to berlin for the first time soon and would like to pay my respects to an old friend.
You have the wrong birth year. It was 1912, and his original name was Peter Wolff.
Did he have children? If so, anyone know how to get in touch? Would like to correspond for a book project. Thanks.

According to the Deutsches Theater Lexikon his place of death is unknown. However he apparently worked in East Germany late in his life. Any info about children would be appreciated. Addy is my handle at hotmail. Thanks.

I am the news editor at Whistle Blowers Press Agency Limited and I am completing background research into a story involving Victor Beaumont during the sixties. I need help with names of family members and associates. I am particularly interested in his association with BBC disc jockies and who he associated with at that time. I am also need to find his agent or agents or anyone who knew him
