Biography
Elliot Kastner got his education at the University of Miami and Columbia. His first job related to movies was as an talent scout. His first assignmnet as producer came 1965, with the Bus Riley’s Back in Town (Universal). After this a series of international productions followed, among others Where Eagles Dare (1969), Zee and Co. (1973) and Equus (1977). Maybe he’s most famous for his productions of Raymong Chandler’s books. Here you can find movies like Long Goodbye (1973) and Farewell My Lovely (1975). His later movies haven’t been great success, with one exception: Angel Heart from 1987.

I was stationed with Elliott (he in the Army and I in the Navy) during the fifties with U.S. Eucom (United States European Command), Frankfurt and then Paris. We were close friends. In later years, I became aware that he is a well known producer and have enjoyed many of his films. I have wondered over the years where he is and was very pleased to have discovered this website. I am hopeful that we can reconnect at some point.
