Biography
Marion Rosenberg, OBE, studied at the Universities of Manchester in England and Grenoble in France before beginning her career in entertainment with MCA’s Bands and Acts Department. Between 1960 and 1976, she worked across both British and American film industries, contributing to notable productions such as I Could Go On Singing with Judy Garland, The Best Man starring Henry Fonda, Where Eagles Dare with Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood, and serving as Associate Producer on The Missouri Breaks, which featured Marlon Brando and Jack Nicholson.
In 1976, Rosenberg became head of EMI Films in Los Angeles, overseeing major projects including The Driver, Convoy, and The Deer Hunter, for which she was also Associate Producer. Three years later, she joined The Lantz Office as Vice President, representing a roster of acclaimed clients such as Milos Forman, Elizabeth Taylor, Peter Shaffer, Daryl Hannah, Theresa Russell, Liv Ullmann, and Nastassja Kinski. She later established the Marion Rosenberg Office, managing talents like Paul Verhoeven, Jeroen Krabbé, Claire Bloom, Oscar Hammerstein, Norman Lloyd, and Piper Laurie. In 1999, she transitioned her company from talent representation to production, continuing her creative involvement as a consultant to the estate of Elizabeth Taylor.
Her production credits include Hollow Man for Columbia Pictures, the 2001 CBS television adaptation of Murder on the Orient Express, and Revolutionary Road (2008), directed by Sam Mendes and starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio. Most recently, she produced Stuntwomen – The Untold Hollywood Story (2019), a documentary chronicling the evolution of stunt performance in film.
Rosenberg co-founded BAFTA Los Angeles and served as its Co-Chair from 1987 to 1995. She has also been a board member of the Association of Talent Agents, Women in Film, and the North American Foundation for the University of Oxford, as well as a founding member of GreenLight Women, supporting women over forty in the entertainment industry. Honored with the Britannicus Award in 1996, she was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2002 for her contributions to British cinema.
